The JP RWEE is a comprehensive 3-5 -year programme managed by IFAD and implemented by Live & Learn Tonga. The program has target beneficiaries of 2000 women who were selected from 30 marginalized rural communities characterized by: (i) increasing vulnerability to the impact of climate change and natural disasters; (ii) hardship in accessing services; (iii) suffering from higher levels of poverty and hardship; and (iv) facing limited market outlets for rural produce. For direct beneficiaries, the program prioritizes women-headed households, lactating mothers, women with disabilities and those households most vulnerable to malnutrition. The JP RWEE in Pacific Islands is led by IFAD through a Project Management Unit (PMU), which comprises the JP RWEE National Coordinator for Pacific Islands, (NC) and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator based in Fiji.
